Task suggestions

After a GPS tracking session ends, Vinitor automatically analyses the recorded route and suggests tasks. In doing so, the system detects which vineyards were worked in, and distinguishes work segments (work in the vineyard) from travel segments (travel between vineyards).

Detection logic

The automatic detection runs in several steps:

1. Record GPS tracking — While working, the mobile app records the route via GPS.
2. Analyse the route — After tracking is stopped, Vinitor analyses the route and matches the GPS points against the drawn vineyard polygons.
3. Detect segments — The route is split into work segments (slow movement within a vineyard) and travel segments (fast movement between vineyards).
4. Generate suggestions — For each detected work segment, a task suggestion is created with the matched vineyard.

Prerequisites

Prerequisite	Description
Mobile app	GPS tracking is only available via the mobile app
GPS permission	The app needs location permission on the device
Vineyard polygons	Vineyards must have area polygons drawn on the map — without polygons, Vinitor cannot make an assignment
Permission	Task suggestions are shown with the TASK_READ permission; accepting a suggestion as a task requires TASK_WRITE. Recording the GPS route in the mobile app requires GPS_TRACKING_WRITE. All permissions are assigned via the role.

Field	Description
Vineyard	Vineyard automatically matched based on GPS overlap
Estimated working time	Duration of the detected work segment
Status	Confirmed, discarded or pending

Note

The accuracy of task suggestions depends on several factors: the device’s GPS quality, the accuracy of the drawn vineyard polygons and the distance between neighbouring vineyards. Vineyards that are close together can lead to mismatches.
